Landfill Leachate Treatment

Rainwater infiltrates through the landfill. On its way down flowing through the solid waste the water is contaminated with heavy metals, salts and high organic pollutants resulting in a product named leachate. The leachate is collected from the bottom of the landfill to be stored before treatment.

DeFraWater® membrane filtration plants purify the leachate. We use the latest materials for our reverse osmosis membranes. This enables our systems to meet the most strict discharge limits.

Seawater Desalination

with UF+RO membrane

Potable water is of vital importance for humans at sea. The so-called "technical water" is furthermore indispensable for the machinery on board. Piping system and machinery running with water have to operate with demineralised water to allow long-term operation.

DeFraWater® desalination units installed on board of vessels supply fresh water for the needs of humans as well as for equipment installed on ships.

Desalination of industrial process-water

Often industrial processes, such as in the metallurgic industry using  drilling and/or milling, require lubricant cooling, an emulsion of water and oil.

The water used in these processes has to be free of salt to ensure  the quality of semi-finished turned metal products.

DeFraWater® membranes systems provide this purified water allowing best performance for industrial processes.

Cleaning of contaminated waters

Strict regulations regarding the discharge of industrial wastewater require treatment of such streams. Discharging waste stream (e.g during food processing) is highly regulated due to strict laws worldwide. The wastewater has to be treated by a waste treatment plant which needs to meet statutory limits in order to facilitate further decontamination processes.

Quality of potable water

Modern civilisation has an impact on natural resources such as water. High fertiliser input, heavy metals, medical waste and antibiotics contaminate natural ground water resources.

DeFraWater® Membrane systems can filter smallest parts up to atomic size or to a molecular level in order to generate potable water for human use.
